I'm seeing there is a special cable available, but I don't know if I need it for the basic Elantra.

Even with the basic radio, I think there will be some integration.

You need to take your iPod to the dealership and test it in YOUR car and see.

My cheap little phone works fine in my Elantra with a "standard" USB cable and I have playlist control; my wife's iPod won't work at all with the Apple cable. We haven't tried the special cable yet.

It is Apple that has a "non-standard" USB arrangement, I think.

It kind of frosts me that Hyundai labeled the port "iPod" instead of USB.....when it doesn't work with the standard iPod cable.
