So I'm trying to pick a rim for the summer (wallet allowing) and want some input. So far it looks like Enkei Lusso rims (unless I can find something cheaper with a similar look). I'm going 18", hung up on hyper silver, black or gunmetal grey. Also the EKM3's are nice too...
I'm leaning towards the hyper silver myself. I think I am stuck with 42mm offset, 8.5" width and P225/40R18... what brand tires, I'm not sure yet. I work at a Goodyear store, so probably a goodyear product
Will do... I'm open for suggestions as well. I'm not set on that style. It's just what I've always liked, but am unsure on how it will look on the elantra.
Thanks E-Fan... I am working on a tight budget, but I also work at a tire shop, so I get stuff at jobber cost. What I don't like in rims is; fake/real hex bolts along the perimiter, busy designs, plastic bolt/hub caps, dual bolt pattern (will reconsider if the design is perfect for me) and yeah... I would like something between 45 and 50mm offset, I want the edge of the rim right flush with the body and that extra clearance behind would be nice to fit a wider tire.
Enkei has a bunch of different rims. If you are a fan of the high spoke design there are many options. What about these? A little bit less flashy.
The reason the lussos won't look as good as the photo is because of offset on the elantra isn't aggressive enough to actually have a dish (which is what makes the lusso design attractive in the first place)
thanks import_nation.... I was actually looking at those Enkeis as well... And thats some good input on the deep dish or lack thereof for the elantra's offset.
Every time someone takes a factory rim from one application and uses it, I spend more time trying to figure out which vehicle and year they got the wheels off of instead of appreciating the aesthetic choice the owner made. Keep it simple!
Tried this one on for size at work. Customer ordered them in for winter rims for his Lexus. I like them, and they sit flush with the body with the offset at +43mm. They are 18x7.5" Fast Wheels Radius
Not bad at all, they look great. At first I thought they were smaller, like 17's, but being 18's if you were to put some nice low profile tires on them and lower your Elantra enough it should look amazing!
Yeah, the fact that its up in the air with no tire on the rim makes it look smaller. I was more worried about back clearance and how flush it sits with the body
Not a fan of black wheels lip or not...but no matter what ya do. Post pictures.
