hello all
I have a 2008 Elantra with 2.0 with 20,000 miles on it. We have had it since new. I believe the manual says the timing belt should be replaced at 90,000 miles or 6 years and the 6 years are up. I understand this is an interference motor and would be major damage if belt were to break. Should I get it done immediately and are there any special tools required to do this myself. I have worked on and rebuilt rear wheel drive older 60s
cars I have had as a hobby.
thanks

I went out and bought a Haynes repair manual. Doesn't look all that difficult. Pulled the top half of the timing belt cover off and the belt looks brand new with no wear or cracks in belt. Will go one more year or 30000 total miles before I change it.
