I'm really not sure if I'll mess with performance except for coil overs and a bigger rear sway bar.
To be honest I'm really not sure the direction this is going at all, I just wanted the progress to have a home on the web.

In some order of preference, I'm thinking about projects like:
32 tint on everything except the windshield
Tint tail, head and fog lights
Plasti Dip, paint, or debadge front and rear flying H logos
Plasti Dip or paint the side chrome strips
Rear sway bar
Hidden SSD/shockmounted HDD (interfaced with USB)
Plasti Dip (or two-tone paint) the rims
Roof rack
Coil overs (lower?)
Amplifier and speakers in the trunk
Aftermarket rims (low profile?)
Computer somewhere (I'm looking at the backseat armrest)

Now that I actually write it all out, it's quite the list!
I've thought to replace the chromesque style package in its entirety with either black or white.
Between all of the lights being chromed out, the two-tone chrome rims and everything else that has me seeing metal, I guess there's a lot of work to do.

I love it, this is exactly what I would do. Remove all badges except for the Hyundai emblem.

How soon do you plan on doing all of those modifications?

I really like it so far, I have my wheels and badges (including front H) plastidipped matte black. So if you want to see what it looks like beforehand I'll try to post some pics asap.

Btw, I def feel ya on the chrome lining of the windows. I might plastidip that next.

Floor Mats

I wasn't two happy with these ELANTRA GT floormats, especially because they're in a color/material that isn't found anywhere else (i/o)n the vehicle.

So I got some RIT dye for about $4, some gloves and some spare pieces of sponge/packing material to dab it on with.

I prepared the area and made sure I was wearing white pants (that part is important).

I used about 1/3 of the package of dye, about 10 drops of vinegar, about 5 ounces of hot tap water and whisked it carefully until the powdered dye was dissolved.

I dabbed the dye onto the letters, let it dry for 10 minutes, dabbed it on again, let it dry for about 5 minutes, then got impatient and worried about discoloring around the letters and liberally dabbed the dye all over the rectangles containing the ELANTRA GT. I'm surprised it didn't come through the other side and was favorably impressed by the waterproofness of these mats.

There's still some sheen to the letters because they're a sort of nylon embroidery, but even though I think I should have used twice as much dye, the lettering really turned out more black than purple (which I was also worried about) so I'm happy with it.

The whole thing took me about 20 minutes (if you don't count 30 minutes of drying). I'm still undecided about whether or not I'm going to hose off the mats to remove excess dye after they're completely dry. I might do a second dying on them.
