I have an Hyundai Elantra 2009 GLS.

One of the studs (on rear driver side wheel) sheared off while doing repairs on it.

Question:

Can a new stud be put on it without having to replace the wheel bearing?

I asked about the wheel bearing, because a mechanic shop, when trying to replace a stud on the front passenger side of the same
vehicle, somehow managed to wreak the bearing and had me replace the same!

Did he screw up the job or does one have to replace the bearing each time a stud needs to be replaced?
(I shouldn't think so, but I am not knowledgeable, however, common sense tells me that the bearing shouldn't have to replaced to just replace the
stud).

Thanks in advance for your help in answering these questions.
