Hello, I have been looking everywhere about this problem but can't find answers.

My wife has a 2004 Elantra GT 5 doors with an automatic transmission, 75K Miles on it.

Last month, the car started bucking at random times. RPM will go from 2500 to 3500 and back and the car will not accelerate. Tried shifting to lower gear and problem is still there. When put on neutral and back in drive the problem goes away. If the car is brought to a stop, it stalls.

We brought the car two times at the dealership and one time at an independent mechanic, and of course they can't replicate the problem, also no codes at all.

I would be very gratefull if anyone has any idea, my wife is now scared of using the car at all.

Thank you!

Did any of these brilliant "mechanics" think to check for loss of transmission fluid ?????
sadly a lot of them don't think of things like that. checking the transmission fluid is a good starting point for sure and chances are it's the cause of the problem here.

Either loss of transmission fluid or it's already in need of changing.
