Greetings,

New member here. I've owned my 2017 Elantra Limited for a little over a year now and have had a recurring (and random) problem that has happened on 3 separate occasions. The most recent was a couple of nights ago. My neighbor told me that her security camera caught the parking lights coming on around 10:30pm. I went out the next morning and found the two amber side lights and the rear tail lights on. I unlocked the car and they went off. Tried starting, but not enough juice. So, I recharged the battery and everything now works as it should.

What I've done:
1. Checked the function of the light switch. Everything works as it should (i.e. DRL, parking lights, high/low beams, and "auto" mode.
2. We normally keep the lights in "auto" mode. So, I turned them to "off" for now.
3. Scanned for fault codes- nothing

What I wished I'd done:
1. Take a video to show dealer in the event I can't figure this out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks

I have the exact same problem. 2017 Elantra Limited. I bought it new. Has been happening intermittently for about a year. Ran the battery down once. Now I keep the headlight switch set to OFF at night! :(
