I own a 2014 Hyundai Elantra. I had the stock 15 inch rims and just bought (Ebay) a set 16 inch rims and tires taken off a new Elantra. They were balanced and had the TPMS so I thought they would be good to go. I went to the dealership for an oil change and had them install the tires. However they said the new rims and tires are not syncing up with my car. However when I got in my car to drive home the TPMS light was not on. So I thought problem solved. Then right before I turned on my street the light came on. I still have my old rims and tires do I need the TPMS from those? Any ideas?
Thanks

The wheel sensors need to be synced to the cars tpms unit. Mine didn't have the sensors, so I just ignore the light as opposed to paying several hundred bucks. I bought my '07 elantra used new tires revealed no sensors, so I just ignore the light and check tire pressure every few fillups.

I was going to make a new post but this answered my issue. I have a 2018 SE and i just upsized rims and tires. Same thing happened, my TPMS light has been on ever since. The original sensors are still on my original rims so I guess thats what the light is for View attachment 3070
