This morning I noticed a flashing light under my driver's side dashboard. Bought my 2017 Elantra used and I've never seen this before. Upon looking I found a small black box (about 3in x 2in, about an inch thick) I suppose had fallen or shaken loose, wires running back up into the dash. One side says to face down, the other has flashing red and green lights with the S/N sticker. I can't find any info on what it might be. Anyone have any clues?

Post up a pis, thaht'll help.
My bet is something a dealer installed that will use GPS.

If poster is on the West Coast it's likely a dealer installed repossession device (GPS tracker or more likely ignition interrupter). If poster has title, he can ask dealer to remove. Otherwise best to leave it alone as attempted removal can cause issues.
