2017 Elantra Limited: Downloaded the map update from the Hyundai website (long process), went to car and started the update. Followed the instructions on the Hyundai websiite. After about 20 min of continual process the update came up with error "604". It automatically tried again and is now stuck in that loop. It will not reset with the hidden button and at the Hyundai reps suggestion tried a hard reset (disconnect the battery for 4 hours). Nothing changed. The system is still stuck in that update loop. No radio, no player, no blue tooth, no navigation. no clock. All I can do is turn off the display

Waiting for the Hyundai/Mapnsof representative to respond again in hopes of a cure. There should be some way to stop the recurring update loop. The mapsof rep said the update must be done on 32 GB SD card and not a USB flash drive. I eventually found the hidden SD slot and pulled out the original 14GB SD card and tried with my new SD card. Same results. I had one unofficial suggestion that the internal Modem may have "bricked"

Anyone else experience this or have any more ideas.

few days later:

Yesterday I found out that "my problem" is nothing new. AND since I did the update myself (at the suggestion of my local Hyundai dealer) that it was not covered for any kind of warranty. They call it a customer induced. I feel that the Hyundai software and instructions was the cause.
According to the "bigger" dealer 40 miles away the replacement head unit will cost up to $3500 depending whether it is a new or "used/refurb" unit. That is a little less than 1/7 of the value of what I paid for the car!
LATER:
Just came back from the Dealer..... The only tech that can work on it is in the hospital this morning. 80 mile round trip for nothing and was also informed that he has to do the work with his personal laptop! Seems like Hyundai has a problem and unable to support their vehicles.
The service manager also told me that the Hyundai map update web site says they are not responsible for failures caused by their updates. I don't remember seeing that in there when I did mine. If i had I might not have attempted it. An old map is better than a "bricked" map and sound system.

YES I am frustrated: This my third Hyundai product an likely my last.

Finally after three 80 mile round trips to the dealer they diagnosed as needing the control head replaced. This after Hyundai Corp opened a work order telling them to replace the head unit last week. They retried the update again, ran a $150+ diagnostic. After 4+ hours waiting they come and tell me that my after market warranty will cover the part but the warranty people are shopping for a cheaper price on the part. Besides the dealer does not have the part in stock anyway.. So now I have another 80+ mile round trip next week after they get the part either from the after market warranty or from Hyundai.

Bottom line: I do not recommend using the Hyundai on line map update under any circumstances. Hyundai will not back up THEIR update. I do recommend that if your 5/50 warranty has expired, get a after market one.. This one little instance will pay for it. Would hate to see what an engine or trans would cost

Yes, multiple destinations is vital when planning a road trip. It's very hard to tell how far things are from each other (and what the most efficient route is) if you can't have them on the screen at the same time with travel times displayed. Also once the planning is over I can save or print out a map with my entire itinerary.

Unfortunately, the latest software update is junk!! The Nav function has sent me to the wrong locations on more than one occasion (i.e., south end of town when destination is in the north end). Inability to change to a more common sense route than going through town at rush hour. The display is not as clear as it used to be. Uses gray for a road and a slightly darker gray for the route overlay. The "Cancel Route" function no longer gives you an "Are You Sure" option. If you happen to bump or brush it, it cancels! I can't tell you how many neighborhoods I have driven through (25 mph) with the speed limit sign showing 55 mph!!

The voice dial phone function is only about 60% usable. It doesn't recognize requests far too many times. I can't even call my wife!! Wish there was a way to back out of this and go back to the previous version.
