COSTA MESA, CA – On March 15, Hyundai Motor America announced that it had racked up four more accolades. The Accent, Elantra, Genesis Coupe, and Tucson were each awarded “Best Value in America” for 2012 from Vincentric, an automotive data compilation and analysis firm. The Accent was awarded the best value in the Subcompact category, the Elantra was rated best in the Compact Sedan category, the Genesis Coupe was lauded in the Mid-Size Coupe category, and the Tucson garnered the top rating in the Crossover Compact Entry-Level category for the second year in a row.
Vincentric CEO David Wurster noted, “Hyundai’s four Vincentric Best Value in America winners reflect the gains Hyundai has shown over the past several years in terms of sales, styling, and overall market acceptance. He added, “This creates strong residual values, which in turn reduces depreciation cost, thereby lowering total cost of ownership for Hyundai vehicles.”
Vincentric evaluates cost-of-ownership via eight different cost factors: depreciation, fuel, insurance, opportunity cost, financing, maintenance, taxes and state fees, and repairs. The firm uses a statistical model to identify its Best Value in America winners; the model measures which vehicles have a lower than expected ownership costs in relationship to their market segment and price. Using a range of annual mileage intervals and insurance profiles, each vehicle is evaluated in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia.

“The Accent, Elantra, Genesis Coupe and Tucson are all prime examples of models that not only meet but exceed customer expectations when it comes to value,” said Scott Margason, director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor America. He added, “Hyundai’s high fuel economy vehicles combined with its strong Assurance program reduces the overall cost of ownership and allows the company to offer quality vehicles with very strong residual values.”

To be fair, they are selling cars that are much much cheaper than their compitiors. they are selling cars that are the same price point as something smaller than it.

its not really fair in a sense..

atleast someone realizes whats going on... that their cars a sh!t ton cheaper!
