Images and details of Hyundai’s upcoming HED-9 Intrado concept have surfaced, following a singer teaser image released in December.

Bound for next month’s Geneva Motor Show, the four-seater Intrado previews the next evolution in Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ styling language.

The look builds on the design of Hyundai’s sharp new Santa Fe, and we can likely expect elements of the Intrado’s styling to appear on future production models.

Hyundai Europe design boss Thomas Burkle describes the Intrado as a way of connecting with young buyers that focus on function-inspired design.

“[The Intrado is about] engaging with a generation of younger buyers with active, spontaneous and opportunistic lifestyles,” Burkle said.

“They are sceptical about the car industry as it is, but respond to objects they associate with pure, functional beauty rather than decorative form.”

Whether we’ll see the Intrado itself in showrooms is unclear, but we can at least expect an extra pair of doors to appear if a production future is confirmed.

The Intrado’s design showcases Aston-like tail-lights and a long sloping C-pillar, along with sharp fins down the profile and slender high-set headlights.

I'm not a fan of the sides between the wheels. Also that massive front door looks like is would be a pain to open and close. other than that i think it looks pretty good. It'll be interesting to see how this influences the rest of the models.
