Hyundai America CEO Dave Zuchowski has confirmed that the company is mulling a third luxury car to add to its Genesis and Equus luxury models. This is part of Hyundai's move up market.

The new model is internally known as the RK, and it will rival BMW's 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and Cadillac ATS.

Hyundai is also looking into a subcompact crossover as well.

"We're always looking at segments that we're not in right now that maybe we should be based on where the market's going," Zuchowski said.

No real details yet though...

This will be a tough market to get into. The 3 Series, C Class, and A4 have a massive cult like following. I'm sure it would be a very nice car, but people that are buying the entry level luxuries are not going to be interested simply because it's not a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. Even with as nice as the Equus is, you dont see them in upscale areas because they have a Hyundai badge on them. Last year, in the US, Mercedes Sold 13,000 S Classes, BMW sold 11,000 7 Series and Audi Sold 6000 A8's. Hyundai only sold 3500 of the Equus. The Equus is, in my opinion, the better of the 4 cars, but it doesn't matter, it's not a status symbol. Most people are more concerned with appearance over intelligence. I would say most people here in the US, but the numbers show the same trend in many other contries as well. Its the same problem VW had when they released the Phaton here in the US. It was an amzing car and way ahead of the comparable high end luxury cars, but nobody looking for a car like that was interested in having a VW in their driveway. I'm not saying it wont sell, but I'm very sure they wont be winning over many, if any, BMW, Mercedes, or Audi owners. I think it's completely rediculous how people are so mindlessly brand loyal.

This will be interesting. I think the new Genesis sedan was a good sign of this, they reached a whole new level with it, beyond what i was expecting they would do.

If you are planning to buy a new appliance but worried on the cost of repair if ever it may get damage, why not lengthen its warranty without extending your budget? Consumer electronics and home appliance are the major things with major warranty. How often have you expected more details on how to apply for a payday loan, and resorted to an internet search on "instant loans for bad credit?"
