horn was beeping randomly

Had my 2020 Value Edition for a few weeks now. Was in the house and heard a car horn beeping. Come to find out, it was my car. It stopped, so I went back to what I was doing. Shortly thereafter, it did it again. So I went out to the car with my phone, hoping to get ahold of someone to help me troubleshoot, but it was on a Sunday, and Bluelink was closed. I goggled, and it could be the FOB, or a high sensitivity, or something else. Anyone had this issue? Thanks!

Is it beeping singularly or is the alarm going off?

In years past in certain GM products the horn clock spring in the steering wheel was misaligned and would randomly beep the horn when certain temperatures cause the clock spring to expand.

I actually wondered if the weather had something to do with it. It was the warmest day outside since I bought it-80F. I'd say I'm in trouble though if it's gonna go off at 80F+. Hasn't beeped since. Also changed the fob battery-guessing it may not have been changed where it's a 2020. Having other issues too-trunk opened on its own one night. Ugh-not big things, just wish I can buy a newer model car with no bells and whistles-just put the key (KEY) in the ignition and go...The more bells and whistles, the more chances of things going wrong, more time in the shop, and worst of all, more money.

Fob battery sounds plausible. Has the trunk or horn misbehaved since you changed the battery?

Unfortunately, cars are becoming more complex and feature laden. I bought a base model car because if it ain't installed it won't break. Test, this car has lane keeping assist, emergency braking, and other features a competent driver doesn't need.

I appreciate the passive safety features, but I often think I should restore a '67 Mustang with its simpler design.

Just changed the battery, so the trunk, horn, etc issues remain to be seen. I had an '09 Civic that I did not trade in. Might put the money into it and use it for my commute (~100 miles roundtrip). It never gave me any issues/didn’t come with a 500+ page manual. I totally would have bought a 2023 SE trim, but was told at the dealership that Hyundai doesn't give them new base trim models. Am actually k8nda glad I have a 2020, as there have only been 3 recalls, and none affected my VIN#. Would think that major issues would have already presented themselves. Still, annoying to walk out to your car after a super rainy night to find the truck's been up for who knows how long. Restore the Mustang!❤
