Im getting my 2014 Sport in a few weeks and am looking at installing HIDs for the low beams. Does anyone know if these cars have a CAN BUS system? It looks like I'll need an HID relay kit and the CAN BUS ballasts but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes you need the relays. but make sure they are the error eliminators. if you are going with cheap HID's go with the company VVME get the digital set and then get the error code eliminators. You can get them all on their website. I've used VVME for every car I've had and on my parent's cars and the only issue I've ever had was one kit had a cracked bulb. I sent them an email with picutes and had a new bulb in 3 days. you can get the kits on ebay, but you'll have to order teh error eliminators from their website.

Thank you. Do you know if the interior lights are the same way? I want to install LED's in the interior but I need to know if I need the LEDs with resistors...

Thanks,
Rob

If you go with CANBUS ballasts, you won't need the relays. I installed a set for my low beams and fogs ... both sets are certified to work with the computer systems of the elantra and sonata. I have these HID kits in for a couple of months now with no issues at all.

I went with the "canbus balasts" as well, but they still flicker. I had the same issue on my GTI. How much did you pay for your HID's and where did you get them? I only have a total of $70 into mine with the kits and the error cancelers.

Interior bulbs

To answer Robs question about changing the interior lights to LED.

You will not need resistors for the interior lights when changing them to LED. I replaced my map, dome, trunk, and license plate lights all with LEDs. They all make a difference in the amount of light and also makes the car look more luxury.

Go to eBay and look up these item numbers, these are the exact ones I purchased.

Map and Dome lights:
251239494560

License plate bulbs:

All the lights are very easy to change. Look on YouTube for a video to change them if you want to see how they are done. Also one more thing, if you put them in and they do not light up, reverse swap them, they are polar dependent.

Sorry the number for the license plate was wrong.
