I've dropped my Elantra 2013 to the dealership today and found out that Hyundai cars need annual break cleaning. My car is only 18 months old and is at 20km

At first I declined. After they raised the car to check, they talked to me that the pads, specially at the rear, are not disengaging properly and will cause overheating then later damaging the breaks. They recommend cleaning the all the brakes, of course with an additional charge.

This is my first Hyundai car and wondering if this is part of the regular check up of the car. Thanks!

Depending on how the slides work this isn't exactly necessary. And the pads and rotors themselves you don't "clean". All you need to check is that the caliper slides work properly.
