Extended warranties are available for just about any major purchase. Customer electronics and home purchases are particularly common choices. Extended warranties are basically short-term insurance on your purchases. More often than not, they are themselves very costly. Most customers aren't aware that the charge cards they already have may provide totally free extended warranties. How many times have you expected more info on ways to get a fast cash payday loan, and resorted to a web search on "payday loans?" Look no further, all of the info you will need is at http://MatchFinancial.com.

Why you need to get an extended warranty

Individuals get extended warranties for varieties of reasons. Several individuals get extended warranties with electronics and other transactions that are fairly expensive. This prevents you from having to replace something that costs lots of cash. Something breaking is not the only thing extended warranties cover. They also are there for repairs and maintenance sometimes.

You'll have to pay

Extended warranty programs are really helpful. Still, they aren’t worth the cost generally. The standard electronic extended warranty is just fast cash for the company. There is a 40 to 80 percent profit margin to them. There is a huge markup and profit margin for the retailers that offer extended warranties that are just very costly. Financial advisers often say you need to put whatever cash you might have spent on an extended warranty into a savings account that you use to cover repairs if they are needed.

Limited warranties typically integrated already

When purchasing expensive items, a warranty is typically already there. It is generally for six-months or one-year. The credit card generally doubles or extends that warranty. It depends on the company though. The card has to be used to make that purchase. It also must be kept active. Each charge card issuer and financial institution has a different policy of what may be covered and to what extent, so it is very important to read the fine print. Sometimes it is hard to get the guarantee if you don’t have the right documentation. Make sure you have every receipt and other paper you need. Even if you are purchasing on a charge card for an extended warranty, you need to make sure to pay it off as soon as possible. The interest could possibly be huge on the card. You may have been better off just getting the warranty.

I never get extended warranties. Think about it. They wouldn't be selling it to you if it wasn't going to make them money, which means it is losing you money. If the product isn't good enough that you think it is going to break, I would rethink the purchase. Manufacturers warranty should cover anything that is wrong with the car IMO.

unfortunately many people just get it anyways and justify it as peace of mind. if you dont know much about cars, it sort of makes sense. Not that it does to me.

That post isn't about warranties........or even cars.
It's about a "payday loan" operation, hidden up near the top of the post.

It should have been removed long ago; I reported it this morning, I think.
you're right, but it still brings up a valid discussion about the nature of warranties.

I just reported it again.
Seems like nobody is watching the store, so to speak.

Payday loans are abhorrent. Legalized stealing from the poor.

Extended warranties aren't much better......as the bulk of the money paid goes to sales commissions instead of to the "repair fund".

well thats what my initial post was about: figure out expected average repair cost and then face that with the additional cost of extended warranty. If you figure the probability/frequency of repair is great based on brand history you need to figure out if the cost of those repairs will be less/more than expected cost of extended warranties...

most of the time its not worth it...
