For its first appearance at the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback has received an extensive tune by California-based Bisimoto Engineering.

While it may not look like it from the single teaser rendering, this Elantra GT packs a might punch under its hood as Bisimoto made a whole of upgrades to the stock model's 1.8-liter four-cylinder powerplant.

Among other things, the engine menu includes forged Arias pistons, Bisimoto con-rods and Turbonetics turbocharger, AEM water-methanol injection and Bisimoto high-pressure injectors, all of which help increase the four-banger's output from a family-friendly 148hp to a whopping 600+ horsepower.

"When the Elantra GT was introduced by Hyundai, we knew it would be a perfect platform for us to showcase our tuning prowess," said Hedi Kim, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Bisimoto Engineering.

He continued: “With our experience in forced induction and small-displacement engines, we focused on raw horsepower with this SEMA concept. We think the final product is a great example of just what can be achieved with turbocharging and engine tuning in the present day.”

In addition to the heavily modified engine, Bisimoto's Elantra GT also features a comprehensive list of interior, exterior and performance modifications, including, but not limited to, an ARK custom body kit, 18-inch wheels, a coilover suspension and sway bar, a JFN full roll cage, and Bisimoto racing seats and harnesses.

funny how were seeing this just days after the RS i30 was made official. hopefully performance for the Elantra GT doesn't stop here, they need to bring something to production level. this is just a great example what can be done!

i see a problem with that....

most of the typical elantra hatch owners are older people

they need to do more marketing aimed @ young people if they have any hope in aftermarket takin off

I love this car hope to get a few thing done to mine
Beware.

What they did to that car can hardly be called a "tune".

It's more like putting in a whole different engine.

Most of the simple, "bolt on" parts that are available do little or nothing to really boost performance......but they DO take money out of your bank account, which is what they reall were designed to do !! ;)
