COSTA MESA, California — The redesigned 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport starts at $25,275, including an $825 destination charge, reflecting a $1,225 price increase over the base 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS.
The 2013 Santa Fe is expected in showrooms this September.
The price increased even more on the mid-level 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T versus the 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS with a 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Hyundai did not release pricing on the long-wheelbase version of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe that replaces the Hyundai Veracruz. The long-wheelbase version seats seven passengers and is expected to go on sale in January. The base 2012 Veracruz starts at $29,170, including an $825 destination charge.
The 2013 Santa Fe pricing is part of a larger trend of price increases on 2013 Hyundai models. The 2013 Hyundai Tucson, Equus, Accent and Elantra have received price increases for the new model year as the Korean automaker begins to march upmarket.
The base 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is $3,075 cheaper than one of its chief domestic rivals, the 2013 Ford Edge. The base 2013 Edge starts at $28,350, including an $825 destination charge.
The base 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is $920 more expensive than the 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LS. The base 2012 Equinox starts at $24,355, including an $825 destination charge.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe debuted at the 2012 New York Auto Show.
Inside Line says: It will be no surprise if the seven-passenger 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe is more expensive than the vehicle it replaces — the 2012 Hyundai Veracruz.
