Does anyone know if there is a way to trick the computer into ignoring an automatic transmission solenoid and avoiding limp mode? Background. We are asphalt circle track racing an 04 Elentra. We love how we have it handling but are just getting killed on acceleration off the corner. When shifted into low the car still makes shifts at red line. I'm assuming this is an engine protect by the computer. Our only theory is to try and bypass the 3rd/OD solenoids to avoid the shift and possibly put in a toggle to choose between low and 2nd gear as needed. Attempts to just unhook the wiring is forcing us into limp mode. I hate to give up on this car. The handling has us running 19.1's compared to 18.3's of our competitors. If we can just get off the corner it would be tough to beat.
