Exterior Mirrors

Can the auto-folding mirrors from other specific Elantra's be swapped? Say from a 2018-19 model?

You would need to check the harness pin out in a shop manual to be sure. I have a 2018 value and recently swapped over to the mirrors with the indicators and all the wiring for the signals was preexisting in my harness. Which makes sense since its much cheaper to just make a single harness. Did power folding mirrors come as an option on trim levels in North America? If so its very possible the wiring is already there for them. Would probably just need the mirrors themselves and the oem button for dash if it had one.

I'd just wanted to know if the newer models mirrors would fit. I can wire them to work like I want which would be fold open when unlocked and close when locked.
Where did you get the mirrors with indicators? eBay?

Yeah ebay. Ended up getting 2 different colors since they were used, but bought new painted covers to swap over so they matched my car. Covers are a bit of a pain in the ass to swap, really easy in concept but the little plastic tabs that lock them in are quite fragile.

I don't suppose you have pics of taking those covers off do you?
I would like to wire LED's into the side of the housing to make the blind spot warning more visible.
Even if you could chronicle the procedure for removing the covers, it would help.
Thanks

Here's a video but doesn't show much. Use a plastic removal tool not a screwdriver. Start at the bottom like he said and work your way to the top. Don't get in a hurry because you can break the clips that are inside.
Second video shows what not to do. LOL
