2017-2018 Hyundai Elantra reliability and value questions for those who may work arou

Hello everyone,,,
I've been looking around and I like the Hyundai Elantra. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the power train. From Wikipedia I seem to have two options in my price range. The 1.6L Gamma engine and the 2.0L Nu engine. Both paired to a 6 speed automatic transmission. No model name or number on that.

I'm able to do maintenance and repairs pretty well myself. My main draw to brand new vs used is the knowledge that I myself can properly maintain and take care of the car from 0 miles. Plus the 10-100k warranty my local dealer offers. Apparently they have a aftermarket warranty that kicks in after that for another 10 years and 100k. Need to research that brand though. Think it was something like "Fortress Warranty. Either way 10-100k factory is awesome.

Anyway thanks y'all.

From what I remember, when I bought my 2017, the 1.6L is the Turbo and the 2.0L is the normally-aspirated version. I can't speak to the Turbo, but they are sometimes hard to find because they are only on the Sport trim. For the 2.0L, I have been crazy happy with it. Nice and peppy, and great gas mileage. I went from a Solstice GXP to this Elantra. Granted, I went with the ELantra because I put over 30k miles on the Solstice in a little over a year, and it was starting to show the wear and tear with the visits to the repair shop. I have put close to 80k miles on the Elantra since I bought it in May 2016. In the City, I get around 36-38mpg, and on the highway with the cruise set to 75mph I am getting ~46mpg. Going from 26mpg in the Solstice to the 46mpg in the Elantra, yes I am a happy camper.

I hope that helps...
