Hi everyone, I have a starting problem.
Hi, I have a 2013 Elantra GLS with 106k miles and recently I've been having starting problems. It happened 4 times now and the common denominator was the damp weather. When I tried to start it, there is no sound except the fuel pump engaging. All the light cluster comes on including the shift notification. No security light either. I took it to the mechanic to run a scan tool and I got some light codes but he said that has nothing to do with starting the car. I thought it might be the starter or ground cable but before that I decided to check the ignition coil. The first ignition coil, the first left one was covered with rust or gunk couldn't tell but I wiped it off and checked the rest of them. It has some residue but not as bad. Could this be the cause of not starting? Does anyone have similar problem? Thank you.
