2012 Elantra Ignition Coils + Spark Plugs

Hi, I have a 2012 Elantra and heard from the mechanic today that I need to replace the coils and spark plugs. I looked into it and it seems like this is something I can do myself, but wanted to see if anyone else has had experience with this kind of repair and if there's anything I should know before I get into it. More importantly, does anyone have suggestions for which coils and spark plugs to buy? Thanks!

That is certainly a very straightforward repair you can do yourself. My caution would be to be sure you have a torque wrench to prevent over tightening the plugs. I used the NGK plugs. Remember they do NOT need anti-seize applied on the threads. If you use it, then your torque values will be off. Let me look for a good tutorial for you and link back here.

Hi,

What was the symptom you were having?

I have an occasional misfire and wondering if I need to do the same.

Thank you
