Hyundai US Plant Rumors Shot Down

Recently there has been a lot of rumors and speculation that Hyundai will be building a US based factory. Well, the latest news had Hyundai’s Chairman Chung Mong-koo on record saying ”We have no plan for a new U.S. factory for now,”.

Rumors originated when South Korea Financial News said Kia was in talks with Georgia about constructing a plant. After which Hyundai denied, but then was rekindled when Chung said last week that Hyundai “will look into whether there are opportunities” to expand production overseas.

So can we finally put these rumors to bed?

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Would lower costs even more. Give us more jobs too.

I think eventually we'll see official info about a U.S. Elantra plant, it is Hyundai's cheapest and coolest sedan, coupe and hatch line which from what im noticing is growing quite well. Seeing many more Elantra GT's these days, didn't have hope in it before, but they are popping up everywhere. Anyone noticing this where they live?
