08 Hyundai Elantra Or 09 Corolla?

My customers is a highschool senior who is planning on purchasing a car very soon. My customers have narrowed my customers search to two cars the elantra and corolla. Upon further research they both seem pretty even. My customers was wondering if you were in my customers position which would you get Car Diagnostic Tools?

I had a 09 corolla, Make sure the piston rings have been replaced or motor has been repaired. After 50k they burn up as they are defective. The 09 is the new model for that line up. Mine consumed 1 qt of oil every 500 miles, toyota replaces under warrenty. There is also a TSB for the starter which is not free. $1,000 repair alone, $3000+ for the piston repair.

Hope this helps, otherwise the car was great, just be on top of oil levels or you will get dry starts even on hot days.
