The 2017 Hyundai Elantra is getting a new look and the brand is previewing the car with a rendering.
For now, Hyundai is only offering one glimpse of the new car, though it revealed the Elantraís new design, which seems to be influenced by the larger Genesis sedan.
'The subtle and innovative appearance enhancements reflect Hyundai Motorís vision for design. Furthermore, this car indicates a move from traditional to modern styling by communicating the new modelís comfort, fashion and sporty feel,' said Peter Schreyer, Hyundaiís chief of design.
The updated Elantra is expected to keep its existing 1.8- and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines, while a new turbocharged 1.6-liter motor mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is likely to join the lineup as a fuel economy focused model. Inside, styling will likely mimic the 2015 Hyundai Sonataís new interior.
The 2015 LA Auto Show will play host to the official unveiling of the redesigned Elantra in November.
