Welcome to the forum and Happy New Year!
I bought a 2013 Elantra GT Manual Hatchback brand new and love it.
I have a Jag X-Type as well, and have driven dozens of sports cars in my life, including Porsches, Beemers, MG's and Triumphs, and other Jags.
This car is great, and doesn't have the power of some of these other things, but is really fun to drive. I have over 110,000 miles on mine, and have only replaced tires, oil, and brake pads in all that time. Its wonderful to fill the thing up, as I've hardly ever put in over about 9 gallons into the little guy, and only a few times needed a little over 10 when it was running on fumes.
It handles great, gets over 40 miles to the gallon if I try, or 35-37 around town or over 70. Its nice to be able to put the back seat down, and I've carried tons of things in it.
I've had two sets of tires on it since the factory tires wore out, and found the Michelin tires handle the best, and the Yokohama's I bought last time weren't bad.
My wife and I may be buying another care soon, and will definitely look at another Hyundai.
