Tinkling noise from front driver side wheel

Hi,

I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited. Since the past month or so, I am hearing this tinkling noise (as if a tree branch is getting dragged underneath the car) from my driver side front wheel. I also hear more noise when driving 60+ MPH on the highway. I dont feel any uneven pull or feel any rumbling when driving though.

Does anybody have an idea what the issue might be ? Has anybody felt a similar issue ? From what I searched online, it seems to be a bearing issue, but I would love to hear a confirmation about the same. Also, any idea of typical replacement costs for a wheel bearing ?

Thanks !

Might be a bad CV joint... Try in a parking lot and , and turn the wheel all the way to the left and then right and drive slowly while they are turned all the way each way and see if you hear any ticking...

Thanks for the quick reply. Appreciate your suggestion. I do hear the noise even when the steering is not turned all the way in a direction - just with regular straight driving. Not sure if it means that the CV joint is really busted or a hint to something else ?

I will try your suggestion to see if I hear anything different though.

Showed it to a mechanic. Turned out to be a driver side rear wheel bearing issue as expected. After fixing it, both noises are gone. Phew !
